Much of the RSF’s violence in El Fasher comes from deep ethnic hatred. These killings are not random fighting—they are aimed at certain communities that have long been against the RSF. It is a planned effort to scare people and take control. The fact that women, children, the elderly, and even the disabled are being killed shows this is more than just war. It definitely is a disappointment to witness the West gradually disengaging from Sudan while crimes continue to be committed. The absence of this force is only allowing radical groups to take over the territory. If we do not push for a UN-led mechanism for accountability as soon as possible, it might be too late for intervention.

People who are 25+, know very well about Darfur Genocide... It was as bad, if not worse than this. 

Janjaweed who perpetrated that are the same ones running RSF now... The story remains the same, ethnic arabs massacring black africans, site remains the same - Darfur ... Cities are also the same. 

It's like nobody learned. 


This is what happens when you don't punish real war criminals. The Janjaweed militia was never prosecuted, they were just renamed as RSF, made more structured and brought back in the mainstream. 

Zebra is not going to lose its stripes just because you dragged them from Africa to the Arctic.

This is macabre on a level I had not previously seen in other conflicts. Enough blood spilt on the ground that the stains could be seen *from space*? In less than 72 hours after the city was taken by the RSF? Mass executions and mass graves at the children's hospital? 

Cynically, I am aware this will get zero attention and not a single person marching in the streets in Western countries.

This conflict has boiled over and the RSF are in a position to secure control over important parts of eastern Sudan, and secure their smuggling routes. Kenya, as well as the UAE, and smugglers in Libya, have facilitated all the supplies the RSF needs. 

Only the US has the power to slap the UAE and Kenya for helping prop up this militia. With little ramifications. But the UAE has trump in their pocket, and even with Biden the UAE had no problems supplying RSF militias. US probably sees UAE as more important than tribal conflicts in Sudan.

A year and a half ago there was ample reporting that his was about to happen if the RSF took the city.

Nobody did anything. It was all gaza and Ukraine. I guess nobody wants to piss of the UAE for this. 

I mean, I get that for Realpolitik; what does anyone gain from keeping Sudanese people alive? That's only for humanitarian reasons. And the world was fed up with the humanitarianism that the Pax Americana tried to keep (for all its faults of course)

This is the world we live in now. If China BRICS or other countries don't step in and do something, this is what will happen as long as the US keeps to itself. Europe is unable to do anything about it. Russia likes misery in other countries because they can tell their population look its worse over there.

china has sold arms to both the saf and rsf.  wondering if china has told usa to back off of this one.  i think would be a easy sale for the usa to back off as the last thing they want to be doing is killing more muslim arabs.  don't think it'd be popular politics for dems or repubs.

and lets be honest.  sudans gdp is ~$50 billion usd and probably very little interest in investing in its economy for all the reasons going on now.  (tried google ai and it thinks the economy in 2023 was 109 billion usd. so i think the ongoing conflict makes the numbers very fuzzy)

While I’m typically hesitant to apply the label of genocide to “small scale” massacres, it seems pretty clear the RSF is following in the Janjaweed’s genocidal footsteps.

Pretty sad. Seems pretty hopeless. There was a brief time where there was an international coalition that might have eventually stepped in - but that world is so dead that even the bones are gone. Globalist that imagined an ever improving world order of rules to constrain violence like this are all politically dead. 

This is the multi-polar world of great power competition where no one even pretends to have ideals greater than the benefit of their own nation, if you are lucky, and the leader's own personal wealth and power, if you are not. No one is coming to help these people in that world. Run, fight, or die are the only options left, and no one has any hope for anything else.
